Biomedical/Health Science Instructor

Northeast Technical High School (Watertown) is seeking a high school Biomedical/Health Science Instructor for the 2023-24 school year. We are seeking an individual who enjoys working with young people, wants to teach, possesses a strong background in biology, and preferably has some experience in the healthcare field. Teaching experience or certification, while helpful, is not initially required. This instructor will be teaching various health science courses including Project Lead the Way Biomedical courses. NTHS Instructor Position
General Information
1. What is NTHS?
a) We are a Multi-District High School, serving eight schools in this region.
b) We are collectively owned and operated by our eight-member schools and have a 10-member board of directors.
c) We are a separate entity from LATC and WHS, but work closely with both in our daily operations and have connections to each.
d) Clarification
1. You are an employee of NTHS, payroll, supplies, and equipment purchases all come through NTHS.
2. Insurance
1) NTHS is part of the WSD self-funded insurance pool. Wellmark Blue Cross Blue is the third-party vendor.
2) NTHS office personnel can help with insurance issues but the main contact is Britney Friese, WSD Benefits Coordinator at (605.882.6314).
2. Days and Hours
a) 180-Day Contract
b) Middle of August through May – Dates for 2023-24 school-year
1. August 15-17 Before School Days
2. August 21-22 Before School Days
3. August 23rd First Day of School
c) School Day 8am to 4pm – teaching 3 of 4 blocks with one prep period
d) We follow the Watertown School District Calendar
3. Salary and Benefits
a) Salary is determined by experience and based upon a negotiated salary structure
b) Full Single Person Medical Health and Dental Coverage.

c) Two Paid Personal Days
1. One can roll over, max of three per year
2. Non-paid days may be an option

a) Eventual Teacher Certification is required for this position.
