Maintenance Supervisor

Our employees’ impact can take many forms. In this role, the Maintenance Supervisor will serve and lead both Mechanical Maintenance and Utility employees at Big Stone Plant. By leading our employees well, the Maintenance Supervisor will not only help to develop their careers but also ensure an excellent Plant operation.
Some examples of those activities will include:
* Determine and facilitate proper training for Maintenance personnel to ensure both safety compliance and that all plant mechanical equipment and structures are properly maintained.
* Plan and manage daily, outage, and long-range mechanical maintenance work.
* Predict remaining useful life of equipment and prepare for timely replacement.
* Budget for mechanical maintenance capital improvements and expenses.
* Order and maintain adequate inventory of replacement parts, equipment, and supplies.
* Responsible for operation of plant in absence of Plant Manager and other supervisors per the backup schedule.
* Responsible for plant operations during weekend duty rotation.

* This position is people-centric so excellent communication and leadership skills are incredibly valued and preferred as we seek the next Maintenance Supervisor.
* The Maintenance Supervisor can wear many hats, so proven success in managing multiple complex projects is a must.
* To be successful in this position, knowledge of plant operations including mechanical principles, environmental regulations, machine shop theory and electrical theory is required.
* Familiarity with the Collective Bargaining Agreement with which we work will enable a candidate to work with employees effectively.
