Senior Public Health Nurse
The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of Senior Public Health Nurse in the Public Health Division within the Health and Human Services Department. There are currently full-time, part-time and extra-help opportunities available. This position provides programmatic oversight and review to multiple public health nursing programs; may direct or mentor the work of public health nursing staff on a relief or project basis; performs the full range of public health nursing services including teaching, health assessment, and counseling services in connection with the prevention and control of diseases and adverse health conditions; manages a patient caseload; performs related works as assigned. Senior Public Health Nurse is the advanced journey level classification in this professional public health nurse series.
Required Qualifications:
Senior Public Health Nurse Minimum: Graduation from a four year college or university with major coursework in nursing, possession of a license as a Registered Nurse, a Public Health Nurse certificate, and two years of public health nursing experience.
Senior Public Health Nurse Level Preferred: In addition to the minimum, a Master’s Degree in Nursing or a health related field and additional years of public health nursing experience.
Licenses and Certifications: Ability to obtain a valid California Class C driver’s license within ten (10) days of employment; maintain throughout employment. Possess license as Registered Nurse in the State of California; must provide proof of re-certification within 10 calendar days prior to expiration. Possess a current certification as a Public Health Nurse in the State of California.
Working Conditions: Work in a standard office or clinic setting and in the field at various residential locations. Work may require exposure to sources of potentially contagious pathogens in the course of field duties, while wearing personal protective equipment. When in the field, work with exposure to inclement weather, temperature extremes, equipment noise, heavy traffic and exhaust fumes, or other potentially dangerous conditions. May be required to work extended hours, weekends, holidays, evenings or irregular hour shifts. May be required to attend meetings outside of normal business hours. Will be required to be available for call back in emergency situations.
Special Requirements: Successfully complete an extensive and thorough background investigation which includes Live Scan fingerprinting prior to hire. DMV printout prior to hire. Must complete periodic continuing education coursework as required to maintain active licensure. Will be required to perform disaster service activities pursuant to Government Code 3100-3109.
HIRING RANGE: $7,047 - $9,161 Monthly + Benefits
